I ended the year by asking the question, “What hashtag best represents your 2014 in a nutshell?” My hashtag was #focused. Some of the answers I received were #blessed, #change, #intentional, #protected, #hopeful and #kindnessandlovebeatall. I loved the question and the heartfelt answers so much that I thought it was great question to ask at the beginning of the year as well. That said, what’s your hashtag for 2015?
I want to accomplish so much this year, it’s really hard to choose just one. So while you ponder yours, I’ll share my top 3…
When I initially answered the question on social media, this was the hashtag I chose. I had just read a really inspiring post from one of my friends. Here’s a bit of what it said…
“Defining success on my OWN TERMS! Intentional planning. Money finds me, trusts me and comes to me because it can get through me. Wealth is in my blood and a part of my legacy. Challenge the way you think, and push past where you stopped before. Don’t apologize for who you are. Let’s rock success together.”
This got me all pumped up and playing Eye Of The Tiger in my head. I felt all motivated and kick-ass! Hopefully, this hashtag will help me keep that feeling going all year.
Sometimes I have a hard time making decisions. It’s not because I’m procrastinator, it’s just that I like to gather all the information before I come to a conclusion. And because of a little thing called Google, there is tons of information out there! So I keep gathering until my brain is in a fog which puts me in a down right funk. It’s just about impossible to set clear goals when your mind is cluttered. Somehow I’ve made gaining clarity complicated when it doesn’t have to be. In fact, it’s just the opposite. Clarity is simple. Clarity is focus. Clarity is power. When you take the time to quiet your mind, you can tap into your power. One of the best ways to do this is by meditating. Practicing meditation can help lower stress, silence the noise in your head and develop a deeper sense of self. When you are still you are able to clear your mind and get in touch with your intuition. The next time I am torn about a decision, instead of filling my head with information, I am going to meditate to clear it.
A very wise little girl once said, “There are three things that you do. You donate your time, talent, and treasure.” She happens to be my daughter and my inspiration for everything I do. In this world of selfies, fans, and followers, we sometimes forget that everything is really not about us. That it’s not about how much we have, but how much we give. This hashtag is a reminder that the more you give to others, the more you fill your own bucket. Yes, you do get burned sometimes, but I believe that in the end the universe rewards you for all the good that you do.
It’s a new year and I’m ready. Ready to face fears, take risks, and let go of things and people that do not serve my purpose or me. Ready to pick up the habits, acquire the knowledge, and instill the discipline that is necessary to move me toward who I want to become. I’m ready! Are you?
Now it’s your turn. What’s your hashtag for 2015?
