Super Fun Summer Challenge 2014: Week 4

I am working out of town this week and have had the worst internet connection ever!  I literally tried to post this blog for like 8 hours yesterday and it just wasn’t happening.  So I’m a day late but I finally got it to go through.

Journey has finished camp for the summer and has taken her challenge on the road.  I am so glad I have this to keep her busy!  As we wrap up the challenge for week 3, here’s a quick recap of week 2. Continue reading

As soon as school was out, Journey said to me, “I wonder if I’m going to get picked to do that fun challenge again this summer.”   Even though she’s in summer camp, she still has quite a bit of free time when she gets home.  So the Super Fun Summer Challenge is back to help beat summer boredom!  Last year during the challenge, Journey built a lego city as an architect, wrote a business plan as an entrepreneur, saved the planet as an eco-superhero, and did our family tree as a genealogist.  And this year’s challenge will be even better!  Here’s how you can get your kids from in front of the television and in on some serious summer fun: Continue reading

My family was recently featured as The Coolest Black Family In America on Ebony Magazine’s website, Ebony.com.  I love the way the article turned out!  The writer did a phenomenal job capturing the essence of who we are as a couple and as a family.  After being interviewed for almost 2 hours, she was able to perfectly sum up what really makes our relationship work in one sentence: Continue reading
